Every brand starts as a scattered set of files, a logo here, a color swatch there, with nothing tying them together. Grid reads your mark and draws the construction grid, the alignment overlays and the clear-space zone, and records the measurement in the file. Guide reads the same file for the name, the swatches, the fonts and the three logos, and writes the guidelines from them. Its Folio template also writes in the tone of voice and the usage rules you set, with the clear-space rule Grid measured, and the portal publishes them whatever the template. By the time you're done, the guidelines, the portal and the file say the same thing.
