Where they differ, and when it matters.
Grids
Both draw the grids a logo designer shows in a case study. Akrivi's Gridit covers base, construction and clearspace grids. Anchr Grid adds four base grid types including isometric and hexagonal, per-element styling for anchors, handles, outlines and gridlines, circle fitting on curves, and a clear space guide that documents the rule as a proportion of the mark (X, X/2, X/4). Both leave your artwork untouched. If you need a specific grid look that one of them produces and the other does not, that decides it; otherwise the two are close.
Brand guidelines
Akrivi's Guideit generates guidelines from automated templates and is the tool its founder built the company on; expect polish and a large body of examples. Anchr Guide works the same way, with 22 templates from a one-page summary to a hundred pages, and starts by reading the brand from the open file: named swatches, fonts in use, document name. When a colour changes after delivery, Apply Changes updates the open document in place. Both produce a document you send. Only Anchr also publishes the same brand as a page.
Presentations
Both generate bento layouts inside Illustrator. Akrivi's Presentit offers switchable styles; Anchr Deck offers four layouts and three sliders with a Shuffle button. This is the closest match of the four tools.
Logo files
Akrivi's Exportit promises sizes, formats and folder structures, with delivery through Google Drive or Dropbox; on 9 September 2026 its home page listed brand file generation as coming soon inside the Studio bundle. Anchr Ship generates the black and white variants of the three logos and exports every artboard as SVG, PNG at 2x and PDF into one folder, and it is available now. Neither is a full icon-set generator; for pixel sizes, both leave you with Export for Screens.
Delivery to the client
This is the difference that changes the workflow. With Akrivi, the last step is yours: a PDF, a folder, an email, and the version problem that comes with it. With Anchr, the last step is a link: Anchr Portal publishes colours with click-to-copy codes, typography, logo files on light and dark, usage rules and a zip of everything to a hosted page in the brand's colours. The client needs no account. Each publish becomes a new version at the same address, so nobody keeps an old file, because nobody keeps a file. See the example portal.
Pricing and trial
Akrivi is $99 a year for everything, on up to two devices, with a three-day trial and no refunds. Anchr Tools is $49 a year for Solo (all five tools, two portals online at a time) and $199 a year for Pro (unlimited portals), on one seat, with a 7 day trial and nothing charged before day 7. For a freelancer delivering a few brands a year, Anchr is the cheaper way in; for a studio that wants unlimited hosted brands, Pro costs twice Akrivi and includes what Akrivi does not have.
Tutorials, templates and community
Akrivi wins this one today, and it is not close: around 130 articles, 19 videos, free templates, hundreds of reviews and an active YouTube channel. Requirements
Akrivi supports Illustrator 2021 to 2026 and recommends 16 GB of RAM. Anchr Tools requires Illustrator 2023 or newer on macOS 12 or Windows 10 and later, with no stated minimum beyond Illustrator's own. On an older Illustrator, Akrivi is the only one of the two that runs.
Who should pick which.
Stay with Akrivi if
You want the largest library of tutorials and free templates. Your clients are happy with a PDF and a folder. You are on Illustrator 2021 or 2022. You want the licence on two machines.
Switch to Anchr Tools if
Your clients lose files and ask for the logo again. You want one link per brand that always shows the current version. You want a lower entry price for a couple of brands a year. You want a full week to test.
