Most lists of Illustrator plugins are written for illustrators. Logo work has a different shape: you draw one mark for weeks, then you construct it on a grid, then you document it, then you export it in every format a client could ask for. The tools below are ordered along that path. Prices are quoted as each site stated them in September 2026 and will change, so check before you pay. One of them is ours; it is marked where it appears and its limitations are listed like everyone else's.
Drawing and refining
Astute Graphics
What it does: a set of 16 plugins that extend Illustrator's core drawing tools. VectorScribe is a smarter point and handle editor, InkScribe a redesigned pen tool, ColliderScribe snaps shapes to each other precisely, Phantasm adjusts colour as a live effect, and VectorFirstAid cleans up messy paths. Who it is for: anyone who draws marks by hand and wants finer control over curves. Price: subscription; its pricing page listed the set at $149 a year (September 2026) with a 7 day trial, and four plugins (Autosaviour, DirectPrefs, MirrorMe, AstuteBuddy) stay free. Limitation: it is a large toolset with its own vocabulary, and there is nothing in it for grids, guidelines or delivery.
Fontself Maker for Illustrator
What it does: turns lettering drawn in Illustrator into a working OpenType font, with alternates, ligatures, colour glyphs and automatic spacing and kerning. Who it is for: designers who build custom wordmarks and want the client to type with the letterforms afterwards. Price: a one-time fee; its store showed $39 with a higher list price struck out (September 2026) and requires Illustrator 2025 or 2026. Limitation: it is a font maker for display lettering, not a type design tool. There is no hinting, so a text face still belongs in Glyphs or FontLab.
Hiroyuki Sato's scripts (free)
What it does: a collection of free ExtendScript files on GitHub under the MIT licence. handleGlue.jsx moves selected endpoints onto the nearest point of another path and adjusts the handles, flatten.jsx turns curves into polygons at a chosen precision, breakDashes.jsx splits a dashed stroke into real segments. Who it is for: anyone who cleans up geometric marks and wants joins that are tight rather than nearly tight. Price: free. Limitation: scripts run from File > Scripts with no panel, and you read the comments in each file to learn what it expects.
Grids and construction
GuideGuide
What it does: places guides from the artboard, the selection or the canvas, builds rows, columns and baseline grids, marks edges and midpoints, and saves grid sets for reuse. Who it is for: designers who set up layout grids for stationery and guideline pages and want the same grid in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects and Figma. Price: a yearly subscription, one licence per person on unlimited machines: $9 a year for one app, $19 a year for several, $39 a year as a supporter tier (its pricing page, September 2026). Limitation: it makes guides and nothing else, with no logo-specific overlay or clear space calculation.

Colour, guidelines and presentation
Pantone Connect
What it does: an Adobe extension that searches the Pantone libraries, builds palettes and applies Pantone colours inside Illustrator. Who it is for: designers whose clients print, and who need a spot colour reference in the guidelines. Price: a free account covers basic use; Pantone's support site says Premium is required to use the Pantone libraries inside Adobe apps, at $89.99 a year or $29.99 a month (September 2026). Limitation: it is a recurring cost for something that used to ship with Illustrator, and the free tier does not cover the libraries in Illustrator.
Akrivi Studio
What it does: a suite of Illustrator plugins. Gridit draws logo construction grids, Presentit builds logo presentations including bento layouts, Guideit generates brand guidelines, and Exportit is meant to export logo files. Who it is for: brand designers who want construction, presentation and guidelines automated under one subscription. Price: $99 a year plus sales tax, up to two devices, Illustrator 2021 to 2026, with a 3 day free trial (its pricing page, September 2026). Limitation: on that same page Exportit was still marked "Coming Soon", so the export step is not covered yet, and three days is a short trial. Anchr Tools (disclosure: this one is ours)
What it does: one panel with five tabs. Grid draws base grids (square, isometric, hexagonal, golden ratio), logo grid overlays and an X, X/2, X/4 clear space guide on named layers. Deck lays out bento cells from a base rectangle. Guide fills one of 22 guidelines templates from the open file: colours from named swatches, fonts in use, the three logos from the selection, output as a PDF that also opens in Illustrator. Ship exports the three logos and their black and white variants as SVG, PNG at 2x and PDF into one folder. Portal publishes a hosted brand page where the client copies colour codes and downloads files without an account (example). Who it is for: freelancers and small studios who deliver a logo, guidelines and files from one panel. Price: Solo $49 a year with two hosted portals online at a time, Pro $199 a year with unlimited portals, both with all five tools; 7 day trial with a card on file, nothing charged before day 7 (pricing). Limitation: it never touches your vectors. There are no drawing or editing tools, no icon size sets, no folder trees, and Ship stops at 27 files.
Export and delivery
Logo Package Express
What it does: exports a logo package in one pass: AI, PDF, EPS, SVG, PNG and JPG, in CMYK and RGB, for six logo types (logo, logotype, mark, stacked, vertical, centered) in five colour schemes plus your own, with a generated folder structure and naming. Its site promises "200+ logo files in under 5 minutes". Who it is for: designers whose clients expect a large, conventionally organised file set. Price: $149 one-time for Illustrator 2022 or later (its site, September 2026). The companion Logo Package Portal hosts a client-facing page for those files, sold in packs of five projects for $50, and only works with files exported by Logo Package Express 3. Limitation: two hundred files is a lot for a solo founder to make sense of, and the extension does nothing before the export step.
Sergey Osokin's scripts (free)
What it does: more than 80 free ExtendScript files on GitHub under the MIT licence, tested on Illustrator CS6 and 2019 to 2026. The useful ones for delivery are FitArtboardsToArtwork, DuplicateArtboards, BatchRenamer for artboards and objects, AlignToArtboards and SelectBySwatches. Who it is for: anyone preparing artboards for export by hand. Price: free, with paid premium versions of a few scripts. Limitation: each script is a single dialog, so you assemble your own workflow from pieces and nothing links one step to the next.

Where Anchr Tools stops
Anchr Tools does not edit vectors, so it replaces nothing in Astute Graphics. It does not make fonts. It does not export icon size sets, and it does not build the folder trees that Logo Package Express generates. If your clients are agencies who expect two hundred files in nested folders, Logo Package Express is the better fit. If they are founders who need three logos, the codes and a page they can open on a phone, Anchr covers that in one panel.
How to choose
Start from the step that costs you the most hours, not from the longest feature list. If your time goes into drawing, buy Astute Graphics and run free scripts for cleanup. If it goes into presenting and documenting, pick one suite (Akrivi Studio or Anchr Tools), trial it on a real project, and do not keep both. If it goes into exporting, decide first how many files your clients can actually use, then choose between Logo Package Express and Ship. Add GuideGuide and Pantone Connect only when print is a real part of your work. Keep the yearly total in view: three subscriptions are easy to start and hard to justify on a quiet month.
Questions
Do I need any plugin to design a logo?
No. Illustrator's pen tool, Shape Builder and Align panel are enough to draw and construct a mark, and many strong identities are made with nothing else. Plugins buy time and consistency, not quality. Count the hours you spend on one stage across three projects; if a tool saves half of them, it pays for itself, otherwise skip it.
Subscription or one-time purchase?
One-time purchases (Logo Package Express, Fontself) suit tools you use the same way for years. Subscriptions suit tools that depend on hosting or frequent updates, which is why anything with a client-facing web page is subscription-based. Read the renewal terms, note the date, and check whether the licence covers your second machine.
Can I run several of these together?
Yes. Astute Graphics plugins, CEP panels like Anchr Tools or Akrivi, and scripts all coexist in the same Illustrator install. Conflicts are rare because they work on different layers of the app. The practical limit is screen space: dock the two or three panels you use daily and close the rest.
Which of these work on Windows?
All the tools listed state macOS and Windows support on their sites, with Akrivi noting its tools perform better on macOS. Scripts run anywhere Illustrator runs. Check the minimum Illustrator version on each site, as it ranges from 2020 for Astute Graphics to 2025 for Fontself, and Anchr Tools requires Illustrator 2023 or newer.
